First Meeting!

The Treasure Valley Harmonica Club will hold its first meeting on Friday, February 11th at 7:00. his meeting will be held at the Meeting Room of the Weiser Public Library. Click HERE for a map.

During our first meetings we will determine the following:

  • Level of interest: How many people will  be involved
  • Level of proficiency: How much do they know.
  • Ages of interest: Do we need two groups? Kids & Adults?

As the organization develops, we will elect leaders to help organize club activities and conduct official business as needed.Group harmonica lessons will be furnished at no charge to any participant  who wishes to join in. We will also have song circles so members can perform for other members.

While it is not a requirement for membership, the sharing of our talents with others is encouraged. We will develop a core group of folks who are willing to perform at local events, nursing homes, and festivals.

Our primary goal is to have fun and become good harmonica players in the process.

Harmonica performer Dennis M. Cooper ( http://dennis-cooper.com )is pleased to announce the formation of the “Treasure Valley Harmonica Club” in Weiser, Idaho.

The mission of the club is to promote the art of harmonica playing in the Treasure Valley through education, sharing, and musical performances on the harmonica.”, says Cooper.

The first meeting will be held on Friday, February 11th at 7:00pm in the meeting room of the Weiser Public Library.

There is no charge to attend meetings and no knowledge of playing the harmonica is required. All that’s needed is a desire to learn and share what you know with others.

During the formative stages of the club group harmonica lessons will be provided at no cost to new players. More advanced offerings will be available as skill levels increase.

Our goal is to have individual groups for both children and adults, each group meeting every-other Friday evening.

The only requirement for free group lessons is a ten-hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C and a desire to learn. Beginner-level instruments will be available for $6.00 each at the meetings for a limited time.

I would love to see the Treasure Valley Harmonica Club represented at regional musical events such as the National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest & Festival and the Yellow Pine Harmonica Festival.” says Cooper.
